NEW FEATURE: "SEE-THROUGH REVIEWS"
by Topper and Harvey, Critics-Emeritus, "Good Spirits" magazine.
Topper: "...gripping...I couldn't put it down. Believe it or not,
I read it in one sitting!"
Harvey: "An excellent effort but "Traveling Reporter" was a masterpiece.
I give "A Pie in the Sky" three sheets up.

It was earth. A Tuesday in 2050. On the fragile, blue planet was much activity. Why? A
lot is at stake.
It was summer; that crucial time of the year again.
It was a time of activity; a time of planning.
On the mind of everyone was: THE PRESENTATION."

There was Harry sitting under his favorite apple tree - it helped him to think when he did
his Newton impersonation; there was Sam, more up-to-date sitting before his computer
in deep contemplation; outside her dome was Alice - tending her children (sexist
author) - and wondering; there was pessimist Joe - he anticipates another lose.
Alice approaches Harry and says, "I have an idea." (yes, a women has come up
with an idea on her own).
'I have an idea' was a most trite statement - but a vital one.
Ideas came and went but there were always ideas. Ideas would continue; they
had to continue. Their motto had been: "If not this time - the next or - - the next."
I had been their refrain; but this time, time was running out.
Sam hollers, "I think that I got it!"
      Does he?
A lot is at stake; everything is at stake.
They had to make it - - - this time.

As customary, the judges covered the four galactic quadrants; these divisions
were agreed upon at the "First Galactic Conference" in the year 253 pala time
(this was accepted as galactic time and was based upon a  planetary system on
the opposite side of the Galaxy from the solar system).
There were representatives from 61 Cygni system, the Barnard star system,
Lalande 21185; from our quadrant alone.

And, then our representatives arrived and, of course, with them the
PRESENTATION.
      They had to make it!

The earth, noted the judges, have submitted four times; according to the
rules of the "Third Galactic Conference" this was their last chance.

After three hours (earth time) the judges had decided. "It is the decision
of the judges that...

                            In the Beginning,
                            There was light..."
